Shasta Garcia holds a BA in Communication Design with an emphasis on Graphic Design. Her continued training includes certifications in User Experience Design, Life Coaching, and is a certified Zentangle teacher, which is a method of drawing meditation.

Her career spans 20+ years working in creative fields, including graphic design, human centered experience design, service design, and design strategy. In parallel, she’s nurtured her creative practices and consistently sold and shared creative projects.

Over the years, she’s been an active member and volunteer in the design community. Some highlights include serving on the board of AIGA SF, bringing together recent grads and design professionals at numerous portfolio reviews, and aiding in bringing to fruition many events, like conferences on sustainability design and speculative futures.

As of 2025, she runs Play Ethic Studio, supporting creatives and the creatively curious with coaching, consulting, workshops, and creative tools.
