Taking care of your creativity is an essential life skill

I support creatives and the curious to define their personal play ethic for an energized and purposeful life.

Let's talk creativity

You know your creativity is important, but lately you can't seem to access it when you need it.

Maybe you struggle to find consistent time or motivation for creative projects.

Or you have a zillion ideas swirling around without making real progress on any.

You might even be creating regularly, but it feels mechanical — the spark is gone.

Creativity is a core human element. When it feels off, our sense of self feels off, too.

What looks like a time management problem could really be about rebuilding creative confidence.

What feels stuck in all the possibilities might be a need to see how they connect.

What seems like lack of motivation might be depletion that needs different attention.

You need support that looks at the whole picture — tailored to how you think and work.

Through coaching and design thinking (thinking differently together), we'll uncover what your creativity genuinely needs and give you practical ways to sustain it.

You don’t deserve to spend another month disconnected from your creative self.

Let's enliven your creativity together.

Zachary — Coaching Client

“Shasta provided me some great tools to focus my efforts.

Before working with her, I had a hundred hair-brained ideas with little momentum as well as the persistent rejection of applying to work for the "man."

She helped me reflect on my strengths and what had best potential to be my own boss. I am now working on building my business.”

“Insightful and actually listens. I felt heard. Her recommendations and projects/exercises were very helpful.”

Why creativity coaching with an experience designer and strategist?

I bring 20+ years of design career experience, plus coach training, along with being a creative generalist. I've explored creative mediums like letterpress printing, calligraphy, ceramics, watercolor, and more. This means I can empathize with and understand the majority of creative challenges because I've been there myself.

When we work together, I naturally bring visual tools into our conversations when helpful — not all coaching happens through talking. We might use design thinking frameworks to help you see connections you couldn't see before.

Most importantly, I think holistically. Sometimes someone's creative "block" isn't really about the creative work at all. I help you look at the whole system of your creative life. We’re here to experience life, and together we can find the creative experience that suits you.

Let’s connect!

Here's what's possible when you get the right creative support

Clarity about creative direction → Turn scattered feelings across multiple projects into a focused path that feels authentic to you

Creativity as self-care → Instead of creativity being another thing on your to-do list, it becomes something that nourishes and energizes you

Systems that work for you → Practical approaches to creative time management and project development that fit how creative minds actually work

Seeing connections → Understanding how your different creative interests and projects can work together rather than compete with each other

Creative confidence → Feeling excited about your creative work again, whether that's at your job or in your personal projects

FAQs

  • Coaching focuses on the present and looks ahead to future goals. While therapy often explores past experiences to understand current patterns, coaching helps you identify what you want to create moving forward and develop practical strategies to get there.

In our work together, I use coaching techniques alongside design thinking and strategic frameworks to help you gain clarity about your creative direction. Coaching can work beautifully alongside therapy but is not a replacement for therapy.

  • It is a form of life coaching, where the focus is on your creativity and how to use it as a support in areas of your life.

I'm both a creative practitioner and a strategist, so I understand the creative process from the inside. Plus, as a generalist, I've worked across many creative fields (in design and artistic pursuits). I can usually relate to whatever creative medium or challenge you're working with. It's important you connect with your coach.

  • We'll explore where you are creatively, what you'd like to be different, and what's currently in your way. This is where you can ask me about my services, and we’ll assess if my support is the right kind of support for you right now. Even if we don't end up working together, you'll gain insight about your creative challenges and possible next steps.

  • Nope! It’s very common for people to need to reconnect with their creativity or figure out how to make space for it in their lives before embarking on a new project .

  • All my coaching clients benefit from my strategic thinking. It naturally shows up in how I help you connect the dots of your creative life. Creative strategy services are best for those who have a big creative project or creative business idea that would benefit from the support of a design strategist as a collaborative partner. This is deeper work that we'll define together.

Ready to have an intentional conversation about your creativity?

Most creatives have never had someone really listen to them about their creative challenges and help them see new possibilities.

Whether we work together or not, you'll leave our conversation with insights about your creative life that you didn't have before.
